You can create a separate partition using the Windows 98 CD. You can install Windows 98 on that partition. That way, you would have both operating systems. I'm just curious on why you're installing Win98. My advice..do NOT connect to the Internet using 98.

You need to create a separate disk partition to install an additional OS like W98. You can purchase a utility like Partition Magic to help create a partition on what free space you have on the drive. You then install the OS into that partition. However, be sure you set things up so you can dual-boot the machine to either XP or W98.

If you have an open partition you can install Win98 on the partition and then set your BIOS to an optional boot for which OS you want....why you would want to do this is beyond me...Microsoft will officially stop all support for Windows 98 and ME at the end of this month I believe so I would avoid it.

You should be able to do it. I suggest installing it on a different partition of the hard-drive. If you still can't do it must be something wrong with your system.
