For one, there is really nothing else that we can be obsessed about. Two, the kind of variety and quality we have here ... amazing! Once you get out of Singapore and spend sometime overseas, you will realise ... we are in food heaven!!!

i imagine its cos there's a lack of imagination when it comes to spending their time. its annoying HOW obsessed they are with food, plus the food culture is "exclusionary" - people with diet restrictions (vegetarians, diabetics etc) can get pretty left out when almost all social functions seem to revolve around food.

2 reasons: we have so many varieties, all vastly different but all very delicious! and its pretty cheap too, so everyone is obsessed over the same things. if we were all rich, we'd all obsess over diamonds, but we're not, so food will do.

singapore is fusion, so are the food hence everybody wants to try everything and food is affordable in singapore
