People from all over the world migrate to US because of the impression that it is THE land to live in. People living here are tired of all the issues: extreem liberalism and conservatism (is that a word?), political process dominated by lobbyists, trial attornies and special interests, crime, drugs, welfare system, illigal immigration, poor healthcare dilivery...
Of course US is better than all non-democratic countries, all democratic countries with political instability and all politically stable Democratic countries with extreem liberal or conservative bias!
Is there a perfect country out there which does not have to be at war all the time, can control illegal immigrants, gives every one eccess to healthcare and education without government bureaucracy ruining them, has the right balance of gun control, civil liberties, and environmental record, where poeple don't have to live ridden with guilt for the deeds of generations past and are free o speak, live and worship as they wish?

Of course the perfect place to live is your own house. Be it in USA or Isreal or Arab or India. Why we always belive in adhering to a so called naturalised set of values. Why not we share our vision , thoughts , fears and ideology with our surroundings world, It does not matter where we are living, once we are assuered of our surrounding enviornment by interacting with it. My home will be a perfect place to live.

It used to be Atlanta, Georgia 20 years ago. Big city surrounded by a variety of suburbs with space and country nearby. Diversified, fun. Weather was nearly perfect, too. Now Atlanta is crowded and sprawling and homogenizing and getting like Chicago and Los Angeles.

I hope someone has an answer to this question, too.

Home is where the heart remembers.

I could be in Alaska and still want to be at home by the ocean.

I would stay loyal to my ocean view (that I'd miss so much).

For what ever reason I am in Alaska I know that one day I'll return to my home by the sea.

You question was "Is there a perfect place to live?"

Yes of course there is.

Answer: Home.

No. Utopian ideologies just get people in trouble because they do not allow for growth. Paradise can only be attained by dying, don't you know any religion? (tic) Perfection to you has a standard that allows three dimensional growth? It better because the world will beat a path to your door when you've solved this age old conundrum.
