I think in these days it's rare to still have that kind of relationship with your parents. Although, I can appreciate that kind of relationship. I have a close knit with my son(19) and daughter(17) and we talk about everything and do alot. So it would depend on what the basis of their relationship is like. Who are we to judge them if you have not been there to understand/experience that kind of closeness. There is a lot of love and trust and respect from both parties. If you can't get it at home - where do you get it, people. Most families in this world are dysfunctional with some kind of problems that they can't give love to family members. I find that weird! It appears to me that because of the sacrifices this man has made towards his family in giving love, at least one of his siblings still comes around and likes being around him (the parent) and appreciates his position as the parent even from the teen stage. Why should societal ills be in the way of breaking up the family? Because that's what it is doing. I thought blood was thicker than water. Now, if this man, the father, had other intentions in mind, let's not convict him until he's done the crime. She is old enough to understand and say what makes her uncomfortable.

It's amazing! You hear commercials asking parents to talk to their children regarding sex, smoking, etc. But you certainly don't get a teen's attention with just talk if there was not a relationship established. The problem I hear from most of the answers is that relationships like their's is not going on in most families. Their closeness was established early on and we don't know all the details. If you were accused of doing something with such minute details, would you want the jury to rule a decision without all the evidence. We are so quick to judge. I think all the answers should have been something like - I don't know, need more info.

Honestly, I'm one of the first people to make an inuendo about something, but a foot rub is not automatically a sexual act. Yes, many people may find it a bit personal, but that still doesn't mean it's automatically sexual. As long as neither person is uncomfortable, then it can be perfectly appropriate.
For those that are stuck on letting only professionals do massages, consider this, you have to get experience before you get the title of "professional". Where do you think all that experience comes from? Soliciting strangers to take off their shoes?

I guess it is all on how you think of it. I think it is sad that everything is interpreted as sexual these days. Hell when I think about a dad spanking his kid. I think, gee is he getting a "rush" out of that.

Honestly, I would never ask my dad for a foot rub, I can maybe see if you are a child, but a teen or adult....no.

To me, massages, unless done at a professional salon, is very sensual and sexual. If she gets a rush out of her BF doing it, I would be concered that her mental state wouldn't be clear at times and she would get that rush in appropriatly when her dad does it.

I agree with another's post. If it was like an injury, that is different. She would need that to ease the pain. In that situation the dad is just trying to ease his daughters pain...as all parents try to help thier kids.

I do not think it's weird at all, as long as it's done in a NON-sexual, NON-romantic way. If the daughter has tired or stiff feet, and her dad is trying to help her feel better, that's nothing more than one family member helping another. :)

Sometimes if my mom's upper back muscles/neck are tight or stiff, I give them a little massage for her, and she does the same for me. That doesn't mean she and I have some weird, incestuous, lesbian relationship! LOL!! We just don't like seeing each other in pain or discomfort, and want to help.

Anyhoo, sorry for rambling. I shouldn't write before having breakfast in the morning. ;D

No. As long as it has nothing to do with sex. For some reason a lot of people inclunding teens like to have their feet rubbed. My granddaughter will be lying on the couch and ask either me or my wife to rub her feet. She will fall asleep in 5 mins. We were doing this since she was a baby.

I don't think it is too wierd. Teens tend not to want so much attention from their parents so thats why it is a bit wierd.

I will admit that my Dad would rub my feet as a teen after I played baseball or other sports where I ran. My feet would hurt pretty bad.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. My dad still rubs my back/feet at times when I visit him, especially if I've been out walking all day. I rub his back sometimes too, I always did, for my whole family. They all said I had magic hands, and as long as there's nothing sexual going on between either party, there is nothing wrong with a little massage.

As long as there is no sexual arousal between either party and both are consenting, it is fine. There are some individuals that have a strange attraction to feet. In that case I would say it would be wrong.

It completely comes down to the type of relationship they have. If he has always rubbed her feet then it's no biggie. But if she has started to develop and look more like a woman and now he suddenly wants to rub her feet, that's weird.
