Creationists love to say "look at the eye, it's too complex to have just evolved." Which part of it couldn't have evolved?

All parts of the eye evolved. There are simple organisms that have the simplest of eyes, just a light detector or some chemical that changes when light strikes it. Some of us have lenses removed and we see fairly okay. Complexity is simply multiple comnnections of very simple things.

For evolution to take place there has to be advantage associated with a chance variation. The organism with that advantage then prospers at the expense of others and so passes on the variation with its genes as it is more likely to survive and breed.
The thing about the eye is that if it were just slightly less complex than it is, it wouldn't work at all! So there would be no advanatge in having the chance variation. Working backwards each variation would not bring advantage and so there would be no driving force to favour the development of a progressively more complex eye which did not work anyway - so the organ would not pass through the number of developmental stages needed to produce the complex structure seen today.
In that case, if the eye could not evolve where did it come from? Answer: a designer who saw the end from the beginning.

There are many other marvels in the human body. One is the eye, so superbly designed that no camera can duplicate it. Astronomer Robert Jastrow said: “The eye appears to have been designed; no designer of telescopes could have done better.” And the publication "Popular Photography" relates: “Human eyes see a far greater range of detail than film does. They see in three dimensions, at a tremendously wide angle, without distortion, in continuous motion . . . Comparing the camera to the human eye isn’t a fair analogy. The human eye is more like an incredibly advanced supercomputer with artificial intelligence, information-processing abilities, speeds, and modes of operation that are far beyond any man-made device, computer or camera.”

They say that because Darwin used to say he shudders when he considers the eye. Not that it couldn't evolve but that he shudders at its complexity. They take that as an opening.

Complex organs like eyes and evolutionary paths to the complex organs are open to debate because of the limited "proof" available.

Mostly it is a desperate jab though.

i've got continually been form of in between so listed decrease than are some motives - basically in view which you do no longer comprehend how the worldwide became or human beings have been made would not propose it got here from some God. - faith became made a protracted time in the past purely for rules to human beings so as that they does no longer do stupid issues -human beings decide for to experience needed. Like there is a few greater God available that loves you unconditionally. And that as quickly as they die they're going to stay in paradise - a lot of persons are a definite faith because of the fact they have been raised that way. They weren't uncovered to something. I guess if particularly everyone became unquestionably waiting to decide for their very own faith with none impact, it could be a lot diverse. you comprehend it is like they are advised to believed.

It's desparation. Of course the eye evolved. Creationists will whine about how there is no evolution, but when they get sick, they don't just sit there and pray, they go to a doctor whos entire training is based on evolutionary biology. It's hypocracy.

Does this question really need to be asked... Just looking at it you can see it is complex... Just like Certain Animals don't need eyes if they live in the dark. Evolution is all around us and closed minded people can't see it!

Nothing is too complex to have evolved. When people use that argument they are making assumptions that are not valid.

I have heard that before. I think it has to do with the way it blocks out UV rays. Many people have challenged that theory and fell on their faces for it. Creationists really have that one.

It is just like " well than how did it all start"

They will not look at science as true fact but they will believe a book written by who knows and date unknown.
