I have been dating a girl for the last 11 months. When she gets drunk in a party situation she is happy and fun. However, once we leave the party and get into the car or get home she starts to behave like a total *****. She screams at me, makes silly demands and generally creates major friction between us. At this point I am thinking seriously of breaking up with her because of it. When she does not drink she is a very loving and respectful person.

She's mad at you for something and she's not talking about it. I have done what you describe,( but not in the taxi or after a party when I've been fine prior.) It was because I was feeling neglected. I wasn't getting as much sex as i wanted or even the sniff of it, and at some stage in the night the optimism goes, you realise you are not gonna get laid and you get pissy! Of course that may just be me!!!

Alcohol is awful, ok? I used to not be able to wait until I was old enough to drink, but now that I am, I don't even want to, I see people do the stupidest, hurtful, unnecessary things when drunk. I can't stand it. If she likes to drink, if she doesn't want to change her ways, I'd suggest you end it, because it's not worth it.

She's an alcoholic. She needs help. She won't get it as long as she has you.
