I think they have some decent music and have some sort of talent. Not that they are one of my favorite groups, I wouldnt even waste my money on one of their CD's before they made their statement.
And as far as their fiasco statement - I think they have no idea the pressure and ties that bind the president and they really have no right to judge him for his actions. He is out leader and above all else we as the america public should support in all matters. It does not necissarily mean we agree with his choices 100% but he is the person we elected as a nation. He is doing what we believe is right and what he believes is right for the Iraqi people. Eveidentally they Iraqi people believe his actions are well meant as well. They wanted out from under Sadaam Hussein - we helped them. They wanted to have a new government - we helped them there as well... now it is up to them to allow us to train and guide them on how to run their government without allowing another dictator totake over.
Actors, Actresses and other celebrities (and even commoners) have no right to judge our president - It is hard to be juge soemone when you have never walked in his shoes -
Who you critize a doctor just because your 15 yr old nephew read a book and told you a completely different diagnosis than what your doctor told you? We dont know what the president knows - we dont have access to it all, so we really have no right to make judgement! Neither to the celebrities - if they want to make a difference in thsi world and in this wonderful nation then they should help by support the homeless, donating to habitat of humanity, help relocate and rebuild the lives of the hurrican victims, donate and help the orphans and children in foster homes. Help the homeless help the drug addicted.... the children who cant afford to go to college but really want to. Help the struggling single mothers who struggle to put a roof over their families head and food in their tummies and clothes on their back... They need to understand there is a freedom of speech but as a whole we still need to come together and support or government publically and as a whole -
I will never buy a dixie chic CD, T shirt, concert Ticket and when they happen to play their music on the radio I will change the station - and FYI
Around where I live they have no air time any more - yes I live in TEXAS! The homestate of our President George W Bush

They said Bush was an idiot when few else would. And over the last two years bush has made them look like geniuses.
People who say that they should shut up about politics don't understand freedom very well, and don't respect women very much.
Oh and the person that says that "commoners" have no right to judge the president and that she is happy about censorship in Texas should turn in her citizenship right now. If the voters don't get to judge the president who does? This is the reason we need better schools.

I like the Dixie Chicks' music. Are you referring to their political views or their music or both? Some people are upset by their comments politically, I think they were exercising their freedom as American citizens to speak out just like another person who I think is fairly vile, Anne Coultier. I disagree with most of what Ms. Coultier says but I support her right to an opinion and her right to express it.

I think they are entitled to their opinions and beliefs just like everyone else. I can appreciate anyone that says what they truly believe and not let the fact that many people will be angry and post negative messages about them alter their opinion.

I think they should have kept their politics to themselves.
It wasn't a smart career move by them, to say that they're ashamed to be from the same state as Bush -- not when most country-music fans are probably conservative Republicans.
They're entitled to their opinions, of course. But other people are also entitled to theirs -- including the opinion that it's best to no longer buy their albums.

I use to really like their music, but I sort of stopped listening to them after their Bush remark. I mean, I don't particularly care for Bush either, but I wouldn't go public in another country saying that.

Seems that we are so blinded by words that we sometimes refuse to see the realities of a situation. I don,t know what was said but if they were criticizing our dry drunk president they probably was right!
