Last night I was watching tv and on this channel you can advertise things like a car for sale, or put a picture of someone on there and say "happy birthday", or whatever you want. Well, there was a picture of a guy and next to it it said "Happy Father's Day In Heaven"...do you think that's a little weird or sweet that they would do that?

(The people who put it on there were the guy's family)

I dunno, it just caught my attention because I guess I would have never thought of putting a picture of a dead relative on tv as a way to celebrate father's day.

It was a nice way to memorialize their father. Why would it be weird?

Sorry my mother passed last year, and I think that's just plain weird. I don't think people are up in heavan watching TV. I hope God has a better plan for eternity.
I have to agree with the person who said everyone deals with grief in different ways. That is so true.
I don't think it makes you a bad person for thinking its weird. I see that's how people are trying to make you feel in these answers, but the truth is, if it's weird to you to that's fine. It's just not how you would handle sorrow or celebrate Father's Day.

What a question to ask...everyone deals with the loss of a loved one in a different way..and if it comforts these people to wish their deceased dad a Happy fathers day this way, then dont worry about it. It does not harm anyone and it may make them feel little closer to their dad.

I think it is sweet. They were doing something to remember and honor a dead father. For them it was a way to show how much they care.

I lost my dad three years ago and if that is what makes those people feel better I guess that's cool. It does seem kind of weird to me too though; I would not choose to express myself that way. My sister wanted one of those logos a sign company can make that goes on your back window so I got her one It said In Memory of John amd Mary and the dates they died. Again something I wouldn't choose...people are different in the ways they express themselves. But you know that guy couldn't really appreciate it.

People put adds like that in the paper too. Everyone grieves in their own way. I personally wouldn't do that but maybe his death was recent or traumatic or something. Who knows. Maybe he always wanted his picture on tv? I think it's a nice tribute as long as they don't do it every year.

Obviously you have never lost someone really close to you, that is definitely a sweet thing. How could it be creepy?

The only reason someone would think it to be weird is that it made them think of death and that makes people uncomfortable. I think it is nice that they still wanted to publicly recognize him even though he is not here to recieve the recognition.
