Buffalo Meat?

How do they sell buffallo meat in burgers if they say buffalos are almost extinct?

Buffalo are raised on farms. On one of the Canadian Idols seasons, the winner was Kaylan Porter who grew up on a buffalo farm. When my daughter and her friend were going to see him in concert I made spaghetti using ground buffalo in the sauce. After they ate about half it I asked how they liked it and then told them it was buffalo. Now everytime I ask my daughter how she is likeing something she is eating, she hesitates and asks if it is buffalo (even if she is having a salad). Kind of funny. She says she doesn't like buffalo but I don't find much difference.

I live in an area where a few farmers have buffalo farms.
They sell it to the meat lockers and restaurants.
I tried it once. It taste's sorta like dried beef.
Wasn't for me- There is a local restaurant that tourist's stop at from many states around! Just for buffalo burgers.

They're not even close to extinct. They've been farmed for some time and over the past several years have been reintroduced into the wild in many places out west.

Buffalos are not almost extinct. There are several large herds (million head) in the US alone. Ted Turner owns one on his Montana ranch.

Actually there has been a come back of the animal and the population has soared. So they are no longer endangered or even close to extinction.

who said they were almost extinct???? They also have crossbreed buffalo/cow------beefalo.

i think they are extinct compared of how many there us to be...i think out west ranchers raise them...i know of one "rancher" her in virginia that raises them for this purpose
