My baby was about that old when Madagascar came out. I took her andthe results were disasterous. She screamed as soon as they turned the house lights down. I had to get out of there or I would have made other people angry. I thought that she would snjoy the movie, because she was riveted to the TV when ever the commercials came on. My Mom said that commercials are short and colorful to catch our attention and send a message. But a movie is a full blown concept that is hard for a baby to grasp.

I have 3 kids of my own and if they want to see a movie no matter what their ages are or were I would do everything in my power to take them. Its like a reward for all the good positive things they have done without giving you problems. Although be sure to take some snacks and maybe a little juice or something, along with a small blanket and maybe a small toy. That way is the child gets bored with the movie he has something to intertain him and as most kids are he would get back into the movie before long at all if he was enjoying it before. Kids are funny like that they can usually only sit for about 5-10 mins time periods although within mins they are right back where they were I would try it could be fun. They are only little for just a little bit they seem to grow up too fast and as parents you need to enjoy all the time you get with him. Shoot make it a date with mom that always puts a smile on a childs face. Try the afternoon showing though as thats when most children go and so if he makes alot of noise its not going to bother others that much anyways.

While he might be able to watch some of it, I don't think his attention span can handle a full length movie yet. NOr is it good to watch that much tv/movie in a day for a child that age. About an hour a day is the max recommended by doctors. I would say wait until it comes out on video/DVD and rent it. Then you can watch it in your own home and if he doesnt end up watching it, it isn't such a disaster. Plus, it won't cost you as much if you have to leave.

My 3 1/2 year old loves going to movies and Cars did not hold her attention for very long at all. She kept asking if we could go home. The movie itself was just ok I thought, but it was a bit on the slow side, ironic that it's a race car movie, lol. We know it's not just her age, she sat glued to the screen a few weeks ago when we took her to see Over the Hedge. I would pass on Cars if I were you, wait for it on DVD.

Every child is different. However if he likes the Herbie DVD then he might just enjoy the movie. Just make sure that it's one that you truly believe that he would like. Only you the mother can really know if he would stay interested in a movie. Have fun and enjoy.

He probably won't stay interested the entire time but you never know. If you are worried about bothering people and it really would mean something to you to take him then go during a non peak time. Take off from work if you need to. Also I know there are some theaters that have special showings for just families with little ones. Plus people going to see a show for that age group have got to expect to hear some noisy little ones during the flick amyway.

I took my 3 year old to Cars and it was hard for him to sit through it. It's over 2 hours long!! Just wait until it comes out on video. It's definitely a great movie. It just night be more fun for your son if he can watch it at home were he has the freedom to move around a little more.

Are there any drive-in's in your area? If so, I would consider doing that. You could pack some snacks and toys for him to play with if he gets bored and he won't be bothering anyone else.
In a theater, I think he may become bored. Cars is a long movie and at times I found it dull myself.

I have a 22 month old and he sat through it. Go to an afternoon showing so theres more kids and parents there that way if he does loose attention it wont really affect the other people. Also get popcorn or bring snacks it will keep him occupied.
