Sugar is sort of like a drug. The more you eat it, the more you want it. I suggest a de-tox period. Refrain from eatting any sugar for 2 weeks (except for fruits and other natural sugars). After that you shouldn't crave it as much.

A way to stop cravings is to not take in any caffeine (caffeine brings on cravings). If you wanted to go a little bit further and really lose weight, try the South Beach Diet. You can get South Beach books basically anywhere books are sold. Within the first two weeks, you'll be able to lose between 8 and 15 lbs. This diet doesn't include caffeine, but it does allow you to have certain types of dessert and you never feel deprived.

I have done heaps of research in this area but I don't know if anything I have read really works.
Drinking water, Diluted cranberry juice, Almonds, licorice tea, chromium, exercise. My solution is to eat fruit and honey instead of the more harmful definition of sweets so I guess I really am still just eating sugar and I'm totally addicted to grapes but I find exercise and water and distraction can help. Or chewing on celery or just not starting eating it because you don't have to stop if you haven't started, or running away from it but then in todays society you run from one shop you run into another and it's bound to be full of sugar, not buying it, doing so much running that it couldn't have an effect when you do finally eat it. If you can't avoid it finding the most harmeless form and following it by cleaning your teeth and drinking gallons of water or mineral water.

Someone's got a sweeeeeet tooth! Many people do and its all about will power. Before u start any diet plan, ask urself, Do i really want to do this?
It took a lot of will power for me to say no to all the goodies while my friends were eating em right in front of me!
So depending on how important it is for u to lose weight and look good, i think u can gather up the self control and start eating healthy and working out.. never starve urself or crash diet.

drink more water, eat more fruits cause they contain sugar to, eat more protein too, that will make you more full, yogurt is a great place for quick protein. Start by eliminating certain categories, start with something like ice cream, no more ice cream on a regular basis, only special occasions. Just get it out of your house. While your doing that cut back on the other things, limit yourself to 2 sweets a day. After that eliminate cake, thats ok right, you can still eat cookies, brownies and pastries. Just start with something like that, vary it a bit, start with what you can let go of the easiest. Email me if you need more suggestions.

When you feel tempted to eat sugary foods, it's probably because you're bored and it's available... try having a jar of almonds or macadamia nuts out, so when you feel the urge, that's what's there!! Good luck!

It's like any habit. You have to force yourself to change for a few weeks before it gets easier. Try sweet fruits instead of the prepackaged sweets. After reaching a goal, you can allow yourself a reward of something you crave.
