If I belive in you, does that mean I respect you? Not hardly. Just believeing in something does not give any respect. The bible says that Satan believes and trembles but does that mean he has respect for God? Jesus spoke of Satan but does that mean He respects Satan? I believe in a lot of things that I have no respect for. I do not respect Satan even though I know he exists but I feel sorry for him. I give God and Jesus lots more respect than Satan will ever get from me

If you believe in God, Jesus and the whole deal, you also have to accept Satan & Hell. The bible tells the story of Satan & Hell, so it's there in black & white to believe in. Believing in Satan doesn't mean you give him the same respect as Jesus. I don't worship Satan. I worship God. There is a difference.

In Isaiah 14:12-23 it tells of how Satan was thrown down from heaven because of his envy towards God. What most people don't know is that Satan was once the angel of music but decided that he wanted the same power as God. Satan began to collect more followers and when God cast Satan from hell, Satan took 1/3 of the angels with him. That is what the Bible says and I believe that the Bible is the true inspired word of God.

I believe in Satan because he is in the Bible. Satan was actually an angel to begin with. Hell is real, and we give no respect to Satan by believing such. Jesus knows there is a hell, he teaches us of it's torment.

In the Old Testament, there is not a single mention of Satan doing evil. Every time there's an earthquake, flood, war, famine, crop failure, etc., it's always Yahweh's doing. You Christians who don't believe me need to read the OT for yourselves.

The closest incident you'll find to Satan doing something bad is in the book of Job, and even then it's because GOD gives him permission and TELLS him to do as he pleases with Job, his family, his possessions, and his life. The only stipulation is that he is not to kill Job. Thus, Satan does God's will. In fact, it is stated that he is in heaven with God, along with all the other angels! So much for him being "cast out of heaven," as Christian theology teaches.

The concept of a good God having an evil counterpart, with whom he wars incessantly to win souls, is not a Judaic concept, but a pagan one. In Judaism, God is the author of everything, both good and evil. (Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.) This is a characteristic of monotheism--if there is only ONE God, then naturally, anything in existence must come from him. Christianity, however, is not monotheistic, despite all their protests to the contrary. They have one God who is divided into three, supposedly doing good; and another god who does evil. That makes four gods. If they truly wanted to be MONOtheistic (literally, "one-god") then they would eliminate Satan and the trinity from their religion and worship only the one God, as the Jews do.

Of course, they'll never do that because they don't understand what a monotheism is, nor do they actually believe anything that the Bible teaches. They just pay lip service to it and expect everyone else to believe it.

Belief in Satan is only because God says Satan exists. God also warns us about Satan and his evil and eternity in the firey pits of hell.

There is no respect given to Satan just becasue you believe that he exists. On the other side of that, maybe all should realize that just because you believe there is a God doesn't mean you respect God either, nor does the belief bring Salvation. Satan and the Demons believe in God, they just don't respect, worship or follow his commands.

Princess, if you take a close look at the passage you referred to, Isaiah 14:12-24, take a look at the context of the passage. If you read the whole chapter, that was not about Satan, it was a prophecy for the King of Babylon. At that point, Babylon was the then known world power who had enslaved Isreal. The passage is referring to a prophecy of Isaiah saying that the King of Babylon (who had attempted to raise himself up to rule over God's people) would be overthrown. Verses 21-24 talk about killing all the king's children so they could never again rise to power - this was a very common custom of the time. When a king was overthrown, they would destroy any reletive of the former king, to eliminate any problems with decendents trying to claim the throne in the future. (See 2 Samuel 9: 1-13 about King Saul's grandson (Mephibosheth) who feared King David would kill him because he was related to the former king.)

Hell originally was created for satan but since man is so rebellious it's enlarged for him. Christians don't give respect to satan. We know he's alive and kicking but he is defeated and under our authority through Christ. Satan is real but no threat to a true worshipper of Christ.

I follow the teachings of Jesus, reject 'satan' and satanic things and beliefs, and I don't believe in a physical hell.

Christians believe in Hell, because its in the Bible about the Angel that got kicked out of heaven and rules the underworld. Its what God has told us and God word is absolute. I don't give him the same respect but i do believe in him.
