He would not let me quit, and walk away, which was easier to do than finish the task. I was in Scouts and was just starting out I hated it and wanted to quit. He remembered why I wanted to do Scouting in the 1st place. He told me he would be there every step of the way. He keep his word and so did I, I became an Eagle Scout because of his perseverance and trust in me. He encouraged me to be the best i could. He is the Greatest because he is my Dad.

I got pregnant at 18 and my father was there for me when my worst nightmare came true.
I was 12 weeks and I lost my baby. My father sat beside my hospital bed the whole time and held my hand. He had no idea how to help me. I mean, before I got pregnant, he still saw me as his little girl in pig-tails sucking on her lollipop. Well, when I was that little and I got hurt or upset, Daddy always got me a stuffed animal. So anyway, he left the hospital to get me and my mom something to eat and when he came back, he had a stuffed hippopotamus. I was still his little girl and was still trying to find the right way to make my "boo-boos" go away. That hippo now belongs to the son that my husband and I had 13 months ago. If it wasn't for my dad, I don't know if I would have gotten through that.

He has been mother and father to me. He fought for our country. He taught me the most important things in life. He has went above and beyond in many ways. He certainly gets my vote!
