Around two to five dollars per serving. Multiply that by the amount of people you are inviting.

Wedding cakes are usually priced per slice. They can be anywhere from $3-$15 a slice. Most of the price depends on just how detailed you want the outside to be. Fondant is usually more expensive than buttercream frosting, and lots of details will cost you more because they’re more labor-intensive. Also, you may be charged a cake-cutting fee at your reception location, which can add to the overall price ($1-$3/slice), though it may be paid to two different vendors.

It can be a huge variation in price. It will depend on what type of cake and flavors you decide on and if you want filling and what kind. It usually starts at about 2.00 a person and can go up to more than 10.00 a person depending on what you order. You might also want a small decorative cake and then have some sheet cakes and that will make it cheaper on you. Many cake decorators do this and decorate your sheet cakes to match your larger cake. There are also some cake decorators that will do a "dummy" cake for you..where they decorate boxes and you have a beautiful looking cake for everyone to see and then have sheet cakes sliced and served.

Wedding cakes are usually based on a per piece cost.. so say anywhere between $2.50 - $10.00 a piece and higher.. depending on how fancy you want it.. Also, who is cutting the cake? sometimes the facility where you are having your reception will charge you if you bring in an outside cake.. so, ask them about it.
Someone said grocery store.. I agree ask them about it.. they also usually have a floral department that can make a floral arrangement for on top of the cake.

It depends if you know someone that can make it for you or if you go to a bakery. My friends mom makes a whole sheet cake for $50. She did this for my second wedding. I have since divorced that guy and am engaged to someone else. I am going to see if she will make another one for me. I had priced them at the store bakeries and they were between 200-1200+. If you can afford that, then go for it. If not, then see if you can find someone (friend, family, etc) to make one for you.

Try, Albertsons or Walmart if you're trying to stay within a certain budget. I dont know what part of the country you are in, but I know here in Texas there are a lot of Mexican bakeries that would do it for a lot less than a fancy commericial bakery.
