isn't synthestic heroin? How does that do less harm to the body than heroin

She take sone a day, so im guessing it stays in her system for 24 hours. it makes her sleep

Taken orally once a day, methadone suppresses narcotic withdrawal for between 24 and 36 hours.

Methadone is a long-acting narcotic used for treatment of opiate addiction or severe pain. Unlike heroin, methadone is administered orally, so there's no problem with injection. Also, the dose is known, unlike street heroin where the purity is unknown. In these ways, it's "better" for the body than heroin, but it has its own risks. It's highly addictive, available only through special clinics when treating opiate addiction, and usually dispensed one dose at a time. This means that the person on the clinic has to plan his/her life around getting his/her dose. Many feel that withdrawal from methadone is worse than heroin, because it lasts a long time.

As a recovering addict I use to take this myself and that was when I had withdraw so my symptoms wouldn't kill me like they would of.
She needs to stop it is just as bad a heroin it's just that the gov can make a profit off of addicts. She needs to go to an AA mtg tonight then go to a detox center first thing in the morn. That detox is where they will medically get her off the drugs safely so she doesn't have withdraw symptoms and die.
This is a VERY damaging drug and the longer she takes it the harder it will be for her to get off!
There are government funded detox centers that won't cost anything your local AA will be able to direct you to the nearest one
AND remember addiction is a diesease you can't stop by will power!!!EVER

It's used for heroin or cocaine addiction. Methodone is prescribed to help with withdrawl syndrome and has to be taken until the md feels that the withdrawl syndrome has subsided.

couple of days, buprenorphine is better than methadone for treating heroin addiction

it's 36 hours unless you drink alcohol then it exits the system earlier
that is very dangerous though.Most overdoses are drink related.
It dose less harm because it's clean instead of being mixed like street heroin.because it's pharmacutical.

methadone one of the worst drugs on the planet
if she wants to live a normal healthy life tell her to 'get it together. bite the bullet. and cold turkey it.
