Travel agents are the best bet for cheap tickets. On the internet, I've never been able to find a good deal.
Stay loyal to your yahoo friends at at least try the travel link on the main www.yahoo.com page.

My opinion and experience is that you find the cheapest deals WITHOUT going through a travel agent. Seriously. I have not used a travel agent in probably 6 years. Sometimes it does take patience to find the best deal...but it can be worth it. I normally use travelocity, but have used orbitz before as well as individual airlines websties.
