My roommate brought home a new cat. It's all good, pretty cool cat except for one problem. We have no idea what to name it. It's black and gray, almost never makes noise, doesn't claw at all (but isn't declawed) and is more or less nice (though doesn't seem to care much - typical cat. So, what should I name my cat?

The cat is male. And seems to get along pretty well with my dog, a hyper active rat terrier named "Emily" (after my sister... and no, I don't hate my sister, why do you ask?)

Sometimes naming pets are easier than others. I rescued a kitten a year ago, at first I called him Sylvester because he is black and white exactly like the cartoon cat. But once I spent more time with him and watched his personality develop, I changed his name to Spazman. Believe me , it definitely suits him. Once you and your roommate spend some time observing him more, I bet you will find a name for it. Good luck

i would have to say out of all the names i saw that i like shadow or shady best.
i have three cats one is solid black with a little white under his neck so i named him tux
the other is solid black but i couldnt figure a name out either and then she started acting like a little booger or brat however i named her booger and then i have my belovedpatches hes white and black with black patches over his eyes kinda fitting i think.
and cats do come when called well at least all of mine do.
