He also has a bird feeder w/ lots of food, binoculars, a fridg, TV, VCR, Bible, bible on tape, telephone...ect. He has outings planned w/ his other children for the weekend. I would love to do something special for him. He's a WWII POW, 83 ys w/ limited physical ability yet sharp upstairs.

give him love and a scrapbook filled with pictures. The pictures could be about you and him having a lot of fun together or pictures of the family. Be creative!

Good luck! God Bless You and your family! Hope your dad has a great Father's Day!

That is a tuff one? Does he have a DVD player? I ask because I got one for my dad (who was a child of WWII) for his b-day in April. Wal-Mart had them on sale for only $34.99! And it was very small!

This way for other holidays you can take his film and develop it and put the pictures on Cd's and he should be able to play them like a slide show on his DVD player. The best part is that his walls are saved! And its better for his knees as well!

A digital camera would rock, or if he likes music, what about an ipod preloaded with some of his favorite types of music? A magazine subscription? Reader's Digest and Guideposts make large print editions.

Spend time with him.
That would be the most valuable gift one could give to another.

If you are compelled to spend money, you might get a digital picture frame and stock it full of his favorite photos.
The link below is just one of many brands.

Wish him the best for me.

If he likes pictures then you could get him a digital picture frame. I saw one in a local flyer for about $100. You download pictures into it then you can flip through them like a tv. It also takes up little space.

You could get him a something to simulate his mind more. I have worked in nursing homes and the best medicine I can give them is to keep the mind sharp. So get something that will keep him sharp!

You should buy him a star and name it after him and let him know that he will always be the twinkle or gleam in your eyes. He will also be able to have the certificate and maps and all the good stuff....

take him out of the nursing home!! Go somewhere.....

Nusring homes are so restrictive. He'll like getting out more than any gift you could buy.
