If the Senate bill is passed you can say"Good by to the USA as we once knew it". Illegal immigrants will be free and the American citizens will have gotten a rude "
Go to HELL" from their (our) government. Here is what that bill will give to the illegal immigrants:
Senate Bill-- the rights illegals will get:
Current Bill:
1. grants amnesty to the MILLIONS of illegals already here!
2.grants amnesty to illegals FAMILYS,who live OUTSIDE the country
3.admits HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of unskilled "guest workers",through a new "guest worker" program, with a direct path to permanent resident and citizenship!
4.admits 1.5 MILLION
agricultural "guest workers" with a direct path to citizenship!
5.increases the number of employment based, immigrants admitted to the U.S. each year,by 400%!!
6.gives the Dept.of Homeland Insecurity, the discretion to waive fines for employers who knowingly hire illegals!!
7.allows states to give ILLEGALS,in-state tuition benefits that they can DENY to citizens who live in other states!
8.requires consultation with the MEXICAN government, before we begin construction of a fence along OUR border!
9.creates new student visa programs, with direct path to citizenship!
10.allows ILLEGALS to claim Social Security benefits, for work performed ILLEGALLY!!!!
11. Adds a 10 year 'statute of limitations' to give amnesty to illegals coming in in the future if they provide documentation saying they were here for 10 years at any future point. (This to people who have been using false documents all along.)
12. Each of the guest workers in each of the 1.5 million person PER YEAR and 200,000 unskilled person PER YEAR program would, upon obtaining residency or citizenship be able to bring their families as well. This includes indigent parents at a time when we already don't know how we will fund old age requirements for the baby boomers.
The Wall Street Journal just touted a poll saying Americans are beginning to prefer Bush and the Senate's view to immigration reform. However, I've read the questions they asked. Had I not actually read the Senate Bill and had I been asked those questions, I'd have ended up being counted as supporting Bush and the Senate in this. People only approve of the Senate Bill if they don't know what it says.
They are not looking out for legal American Citizens. They don't listen to us. They are listening to freeloading illegal immigrants. If enough of the voting legal population will get their heads out of their butts and let their senators and representatives know how they feel about this atrocity to the American people they just might start to listen to us.
The laws on illegal immigration are already on the books, they just need to ENFORCE THEM

The reason the path to citizenship guest worker program is in the Senate Bill is because employers are aware that once legalized, illegals will no longer work for the low wages they are getting. The employers are trying to put every means in to control the guest workers. For example they can get on the permanent residence citizenship track only if sponsered by an employer or if they get a special dispensation from the government. The guest worker program lets in so many people, plus their families, that people arguing that the numbers aren't really so large are reduced to saying that at most only half of those allowed in would actually come in. Essentially it is an open border policy with screening.
However, illegals who can't match with employers will come in for all of the benefits our government is voting in place such as the 10 year rolling amnesty in the Senate Bill and the Dream Act, also contained in the Senate Bill (and separately already passed by the House Judiciary committee). The Dream Act would legalize students and remove such barriers as still exist to illegal immigrants getting in state tuition and federal education funding ahead of legal citizens. The Dream Act alone is a nightmare.
They keep talking about the employers being a magnet to illegal immigration, however, the many programs they pass specifically intended to benefit illegal aliens creates a huge magnet.
Under the Senate Bill there would be the worst of all worlds. We would be educating and paying for health care for the poor of the entire world, in numbers realistically only limited by their ability to get transportation here.

It's not a long term question of asking for higher wages, they'd be like the rest of organized labor. And make no mistake- there's no such thing as an illegal making a buck an hour - they are well paid and have their own union, represented by the UFW. I mysef can't fathom our leaders thinking that the more people they can stuff on our shores the more jobs they're will be and the better off financially we'll be when we can't take care of our own right now - how many Americans do you know that are out of work or have no opportunity to get better work for their families already, and you want everyone to come over and get their chance first at the
American dream? Give me a break.
The issue is of colonizatin, Atlzan, La Reconquista and losing states back to Mexico. Now as many that don't believe me, it's on thier own website, congress.org.
The American Citizen is being legislated out of existence and you don't even know it.

What a decent wage to you is not a decent wage to others. If the wages were so low why does anyone want to work for them? If the states that have a minimum wage did not have one the economy would thrive. Low wage jobs are not to make a Carree of but stepping stones to better jobs employers are better able to know if a person is able to make it to work on a daily basis and on time. The bottom line is you do not have to work any job and if you don't want to work don't but if you don't work you don't eat.

Illegal people are punished...why should illegal entrants to america be given amnesty...they should be deported and sent and not allowed to enter again. How can they say it is ok? There are so many people who come legally... so should they have entered illegally, just so they could get amnesty too?
It is wrong and nothing will make it ok...

It seems all three are possible. There is also the fact the this could cause companies to loose enough money that they pick up and leave the US like everyone else is doing. If you want cheap immigration workers, the best place to get them is Mexico! If they can't come to you, go to them!

It will hurt people who have low education but are bolstered up economically by unions, people like autoworkers. It will have a slightly detrimental effect to the economy as a whole, but it's those who are lazy that will be getting the hardest hit.

Yep. That's correct. It's what we've been saying all along, isn't it? We're screwed, they're screwed, only the newest wave illegals will not be screwed, until they are legalized too, that is.

They'll petition the government to get handouts and tax breaks, and probably get by with it, for a while, then after that they'll probably try to farm in Bangladesh etc. Mexico will be left empty-handed along with more americans, and it'll basically suck to be us. Be sure to send your thank-you cards! LOL
