Can chronic gastritis cause Pernicious Anemia?

Does chronic gastritis cause Pernicioua Anemia and if so, what is the duration between onset and the resulting B-12 defiency? Once the gastritis is corrected, does the intrinsic factor return?

Chronic gastritis does not cause Pernicious anemia.However several deficiencies can occur in Gastritis.Intrincic factor defect does not appear in Chronic gastritis.

not heard of this but i also have accute gastritis and I am iron deficient. How do you correct gastritis? Maybe you can give me some help because my doc sure can't. [e-mail]
