The visio doc should appear as an icon that must be double clicked to open in Visio. I can't find the setting in acrobat pro to do that kind of conversion.

Follow this link http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp. It is a free pdf printer. I have used it for several years without any problems.

You can link the Visio document in using a hyperlink, and then in the Conversion Settings ask Adobe to preserve hyperlinks (This is in Adobe PDF > Change Conversion Settings in the Office application). You can also convert Visio files to PDF.

YOu can download a free set of programs called PDF995 and create PDF's quite easily.

The PDF995 installs itself like a printer driver. Once you have your document (in any program, I might add) you merely select the PDF995 as the printer and click Print. You are then prompted for the file name, and the PDF is created.
