I am not a Christian but my best friend is, and the truth is that true Christians that are actually devoted to church and go everyday don't even follow this rule. I know my best friend does't. According to the bible, thats the only reason you're suppose to have sex, to reproduce. But no, not from whai I know and not from what I have been told from a Christian. Christians do have sex for recreational purposes.

Abortion is stopping a pregnecy that is already started. Birth control prevents one from starting. So abortion and birth control are not the same. Now some churches belive that birthcontrol is murder like abortion. Shooting a person on the street would be murder also, it does not make it abortion.
Birth Control, Abortion, Abstence, are simply 3 different methods of controlling population, and unwanted children. So all 3 are good things.

Some forms of birth control do constitute abortion. For example, the Intra Uterine Device. An egg can be fertilized but the device keeps the egg from implanting and makes the body menstrate. However, pills, patches, injectables, and condoms are totally effective and normal. The person who said Catholicism is the only faith that believes birth control is wrong was right. Other forms of Christianity don't seem to make that large of a fuss over it.

Using birth control is not the same as abortion. You use birth control to keep from getting pregnant, an abortion is killing a baby you are already pregnant with. that is a huge difference.
Not all religions are against birth control, I know Catholics are, but that is the only one I personally know of. So to say we Christians only have sex to get pregnant is silly.
There is no sin in using birth control, it is only a sin to kill a baby you have conceived. And that is still a personal belief.

Some birth control methods cause abortions. So, yes, those should not be used. Christians have sex because it is a gift from God in marriage and if they happen to get pregnant from it, it is a special blessing from God. I don't think Christians are purposely trying to have kids. They simply enjoy the "perks" of marriage. A true Christian knows that life can only come from God.

Birth control is abortion? That is so not real. That would mean a new life begins at the thought of sex. Abortion by not getting someone pregnant in the first place? That is so not real.

You are right if you are Catholic, they are the only religion I know of that believes that. There are also certain women that have to use birth control to control hormone levels in their body or they can become ill, I don't believe in abortion in anyway but I do believe in birth control, i also have 5 kids and now have my tubes tied b/c of medical complications with my last 2 children. So I have to say you are wrong about that one, and as a Christian I don't have sex to have kids I have it b/c I enjoy it.

A lot of Christian denominations say that sex should only be for procreation, yes. The biggest of these is probably the Catholic Church and the Papacy.
Some other churches say that God created us to have and enjoy sex, but that we shouldn't have more children than we can afford to look after, and for that reason allow birth control.
It's up to the individual Christian which they choose, really.

How can birth control method the same as abortion?
Birth Control is a way to prevent creating a baby
Abortion is killing the baby before it's born.
So it finally depend on how you see it. if you see birth control as "killing" the sperms then you might as well say that ALL women have sins for killing everytime they having menstruation.

The premise of the question is flawed. Prevention of conception and actually destroying a growing fetus are two, very distinct acts.
Just ask any woman who has ever gotten an abortion if they think birth control is the same thing.
