Is there any scientific proof that if I believe in Jesus I go to heaven after I die? If no, then would it be religious faith?

Is there any scientific proof that if I die nothing happens? If no, then would the believe that nothing happens be one of philosophical faith?

That there are differences in this faith, and degrees of this faith, but that both are believes that have no basis in something that is scientifically provable, this has been my thought for a day.

I agree with you. I have some ideas about what might happen when you die, but I acknowledge that I don't know for sure anymore than a Bible thumper does. We're all just engaged in conjecture. And yes, although I've been criticised for saying this before, disbelief is also a leap of faith. But it's the one that I've arrived at through very careful consideration of the possibilities, and the one that 'feels right' in my heart.

You can know that an atheist is sincere if he says that he doesn't believe in life after death, because it's clearly a position that shows no wishful thinking whatsoever. Who wouldn't want to believe in the Judeo-Christian view of heaven, or other lovely views of the afterlife? Who wouldn't want to think that they'll be able to see their dearly departed again and live forever in happiness and bliss? The only way I can see someone turning their back on that is if they've analysed it under the cold, harsh light of reason and probability and realised that they cannot be honest with themselves if they profess to believe in it.

I'm not sure that there is scientific proof of what happens after you die, but I do believe that you just keep coming back to live on earth over and over again. I believe that before you can reach the "ultimate level" you must go through a series of lessons. You have to learn to achieve certain moral aspects, such as loving, giving, considerate of others feeling and the affect of your actions, a higher spiritual etc.
Each time you either advance to a different higher level or you remain at the same level until you learn that lesson, very much like school. While some souls can learn / pass different lessons during one lifetime, most must focus on one. Other souls are here to help along or "chaperon" others. Many times it is easy to tell which souls are young souls and which ones have been around several times already.

Personally I feel that I am a soul that is half-way on its journey and I have a teenage son that I feel is at a stage far more advanced than I am, weird huh?

The problem with this question is that it is scientifically unprovable. Many have said they had near death experiences where they were actually dead for a time and then came back to life. In that brief moment they come in contact with some sort of angel or higher entity. However, this cannot be proven. It's been explained away as the shutting down of the brain causing hallucinations and it being the last thing they envisioned before they died. But the truth is, that none of us can possibly know what happens for sure until we are, in fact, totally, completely, never to return, dead. I'd rather gamble towards eternal happiness even if there isn't such a thing than not believe, curse God and faith and spend eternity in misery. But hey, that's just my personal opinion.

When I die I will spend some time doing a life review. During this review I will have a chance to see and feel how my words and actions effect the people I have come into contact with. So when I was younger and some what violent I will have to feel the physical and emotional pain that my actions caused others. This is for my growth. I only truly learn through experience. After I review this life in that way I will then decide what I still wish to learn. I will group myself with other souls that also want to learn the same sort of lessons and we will make a life plan. Then it will all begin again. This is a watered down version. This is my truth. No judging No reward it just is about growth.

There are way to many theories on that subject to be explained. Many simple or complexed minds seem to drift to the conclusion that we just sit and rot in the ground, but if you really think the end of life is like that you must be a mentally disturbed or troubled person. Who would honestly just want to rest in the ground, wouldn't you rather believe in a god just for the slight chance that you could have everything you want?I am not religious in no means and haven't went to church since 1st grade so don't say anything like that.I believe that when we die that are spirits are restored into another life form but we don't remember of any past experiences at all, but again we all have our opions and we can only hope for the best.

I believe the Biblical teaching of death. The breath leaves the body whis is layed in the grave until the second coming of Jesus. There is not a soul that goes to heaven, but the breath returns to God who gave it.

Look at the ressurection of Lazarus, his body was in the grave and already decomposing when Jesus brought him back to life. If he had a soul that was happy in heaven, he would have been very unhappy coming back to this earth. Jesus and God are love, they are not cruel.

I don't know that there is any scientific proof that there is not a soul that makes up the body, nor is there any proof that it does exist. I place my faith in the God who gave us the words of the Bible through his prophets.

Well there is the fact that Energy can not be created nor destroyed. We are made of energy as is everything around us.

Faith has people think they will go to heaven or hell.]

I hope that there is an ever lasting life in heaven and you get to live peacefully and happily.
But what if that isn't the truth.
If energy can not be destroyed, then where do we go after we die.

No one knows. Faith is what help you believe.

We are saved by faith, and confirmation only comes after the trial of our faith. Faith is believing in things which are not seen or provable by science. Believing in Christ is not all you need to do in order to heaven. You must be baptised and follow his commandments too.

According to the bible, you sleep and wait for Jesus to return to take you to Heaven. Some will go and others will not. If you want proof of any of it, you need to wait till it happens. Since God said it, that is all the proof I need as I have faith that God does not lie.

well that answer is easy, it seems many on here dont know the answer becasue they dont read there bible or dont understand what the bible is saying. i have a scripture that states what happens to the body. Ecclesiastes 9:5 " For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the rememberance of them has been forgotten. "
Genesis 3:9 " In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you are taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return."
Have any questions let me know.
