Do you mean on the day of the wedding? If so, the bride should wear her engagement ring on her right ring finger and after the wedding band has been placed on her left hand, she would transfer the engagement ring over. If you mean when you give her the engagement ring, then yes, it goes on the left ring finger.

Ring finger on the left side. Untill you get married. Then the wedding band goes there and the engagement ring to the top.

Currently mine is on the traditional finger. However, mine is not apart of a wedding set so once the wedding happens it will be moved to my right hand and my wedding ring will take it's place. In my opinion however, it goes where you want it to. Just remember that unless it is in the traditional spot people may not understand what it symbolizes. Men like women look for the ring to see if it is safe to approach you.

The ring finger (third finger, between pinky and middle finger) of your left hand (same as where the wedding ring goes).

Traditionally one wears their wedding/engagement rings on the left hand, finger closest to pinkie. It was believed that the arteries in that finger ran directly to the heart.
