yes heartworms in cats in becoming a growing concern they have had cats that came up positive for heartworms some of the symptoms could be easily mistaken for other problems ie vomiting. they do make a heartworm pill for cats now ask your vet usually when cats get heartworms they do not live long, there bodies react differently then dogs, and there is no treatment for cats that are infected w/heartworms.

Yes they are a concern in cats, but unlike dogs they cannot be treated in cats. usually cats only have 1-2 adult worms when infected so even then the vet will usually still keep them on heartworm prevention.

yes my vet told me his cat had heartworms awile ago

humans can contract these worms too. so you really need to consult your Vet.
