It depends on the type of funding you receive.

* Grants, by definition do not need to be paid back, nor do scholarships and fellowships.
* Loans, by definition, DO need to be repaid (YES, loans are still considered Financial Aid).
* Federal Work-Study is basically a federally subsidized job -- you don't need to repay it but you're paid only as much FWS as you actually earn.

it depends on what type of financial aid your getting.. Grants no you don't have to pay them back but loans you do...
