It seems to me if you had no calories/food to burn up, you would move strait to the fat.

"Exercisers who do cardio on an empty stomach are under the assumption that they will increase fat burn because their body will have no other fuel to choose. Unfortunately, this line of reasoning is flawed. For one thing, glycogen is stored within your muscles up to 48 hours, so even if you don't eat any food right before you exercise, there still may very well be sugar to burn. And even if you do happen to accomplish a glycogen-depleted state, the end result won't be positive. You will wind up dramatically reducing your training pace, and that's what dictates the amount of energy you'll wind up using. Energy is what ultimately determines the amount of fat you'll have to cash in"

-Personally speaking it depends on what I have planned in the gym. If I'm going to do strenght I eat something like a chicken wrap 30-40 minutes before I hit the weights. If I want to do a full burn cardio session I grab a 1/2 whole wheat bagel with a smear of natural peanut butter 30 minutes before I run or engage in any high cardiovascular activity. It hasn't tampered with my weight, what it does is give me more energy to run longer w/out feeling totally exhausted at the end.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

You must eat a little food before your exercise, neither empty stomach nor full of food is suitable, and that will not affect your burned calories

It is ten times easier to exercise before you have eaten anything because you haven't the pressure to burn anything off, you haven't anything inyou to turn into a milk shake, cause stitches and make you want to stop and you are one up in your mind because you are making a fresh start so when you do actually come to eating it is easier to make healthy choices, junk food doesn't seem appealing after exertion but water seems irresistable. So in a round about psychological way it could help

yeah , when you excerise with empty stomach , your body bends more swiftly than loaded with food , and also your excersice time increases , so you are bound to shed lots of calories than with food.
And excercise after food is not ok
