Who invented the cat?

Cat is invented by the one who invented us... So Now the big question is "Tricksy tricksy, if not completely stupid...? who invented us?"

The can (feline situopnalapius) was first invented by Thaddeus Almer of Ontario, Canada. He perfected the design over several years in his workshop creating several viable 'species' of cat.
Unfortunately, Thaddeus wasn't a business man and forgot to patent his creation so it was subsequently stolen by the 'I want a pet but not a dog but something low maintenance and quite cute but won't poo in my house' corporation of Utah who claimed the creation of the cat as their own work and earned a fortune with their multinational cat dealer franchises.
Unfortunately, the same company went into liquidation after it's ill fated house slug project.
Thaddeus died in poverty and obscurity, remembered by the few who appreciate and continue his work to this day.

The hat. Well the cat did come out of the hat eventualy, otherwise why else did they call that book The Cat In The Hat, hehe.

I know when it was invented but I don't know who invented it, it was invented in the 1600's
