I would join the Air Force. I was a military spouse for many years to a man in the Army. I worked as a civilian in many different posts, at least one assignment in each, Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force posts. I worked in the dry cleaners. I observed that after basic training, Air Force personnel were the most able to enjoy the fruits of the labor by having the most human comforts allowed, the least amount of degradation from the officers, more free time, less hassles over the "stupid stuff". Air Force people smile more and have the most relaxed attitude off duty. Do not misunderstand me, they are just as tough, just as smart, just as strong. They are the least "abused" of the services when it comes to better food, better housing, better bases. They do have to clean up more than most of the others do though. This is one woman's observations and they are limited to my experience. I wish to offend no one. The veteran is the reason I have the freedom to state my opinion. All are equally important, all are equally skilled.

I'm a former Marine. I chose the Marine Corps because I wanted to go to war. And I did. All the military M.O.S's lead to something in the civilian world. But If you think you're tough and want to get abused, mistreated, run through hell and back and be a part of an elite organization, join the Marines. If you want to fight but you don't want to run through hell and back, joint the army. If you want more of a kickback and relax atmosphere, join the navy. If you want the best food and the best everything and feel you're to fragile to get dirty and you like the easy way, join the air force. If you want to be a civilian wearing a uniform and acting tough, join the coast guards. So, remember what you're going into before you join any of the branches. OOOHRAAAH!!!

Every branch has it's up and downs.
Air Force... It will be an easy job and easy training. ex husband was a SP
Navy... If you like water it's great!! (Navy are also the ones who flies into Iraq and takes out the injured) *like my son*
Army.. Don't know much about it except my brother-n-law loves it.
Marines... Helps all young men to grow up and teaches them discipline but they are the ones on the front lines in Iraq right now so The Marines are a mothers worst nightmare ( at least it's mine ) *son is in the Marines*

Well, I personally joined the Navy. My grandfather and uncle where Army and my uncle told me that I was to smart to go into the Army. My other uncle was Air Force and he told me it's hard to make rank (that and the recruiters are NEVER there). Both of my parents, my cousin, and several of my father's cousins where Navy. It's what I grew up with and it's was a great tradition. I thought about the Marine Corps but I didn't think I could handle the physical portion.
If I could go back, I would go Marine.

If you "want to go" not have to go the military is an all volunteer force. I made a career in the Navy and truely enjoyed my time - I think the airforce always had it a little better for food and barracks but they don't advance in paygrade as quicly as some Navy jobs. Army and Marines are great if you want the potential of going door to door in hostile areas and either kill or be killed.

Well, no one HAS to go into the military. It is an honor to serve.
I am hoping my sons choose the Air Force because you can get training and skills that will help you be financially secure for the rest of your life (provided that you do your part and work hard) Air flight is the future.

I'm retired US Navy. I have been around the world 11 times, been to 82 different countries. I have been trained in many different fields. Postal Clerk, Advanced Avaition Fire Fighting, Leadership skills, etc..... Do not think that it is easy. Expect hard work and long hours in any service you choose. In any and all services you would get my support.

I joined the Airforce. 99% of their jobs lead to a career in the civilian world. Although there is not much use for artillery experts in the civ world, it would be an awesome experience to be in the Marines.
