Getting a BS and an MBA doesn't make it automatic that you will end up in either field any more than a degree in engineering.

Most successful people get an education in a field that they enjoy and are good at. That should be your primary focus. There is no way of telling now what job you may end up with or what field you may eventually want to be in.

I got a BS in Mechanical Engineering and recently completed an MBA program. It's a great combination if you want to be an executive or an entrepreneur.
Engineering in general is a more practical and useful education for business than science is - since you get most of the science, esp. math, plus the ability to apply it.
One of the useful skills I've picked up is the ability to look at a new technology and figure out if a profitable business can be made from its application.
