Is it worth buying a home perm to try perming my hair.
A girl told me it comes with instructions. Hoping to achieve a sort
of dumb blonde look.

If you don't know what your doing DON"T!!! you can burn your hair ...I MEAN BURN IT where the hair breaks off on to the roller ..you need help. plus if your hair has been bleached or dyed this can cause the hair to break also and change the hair color lighter or some weird glowing color...The ends of hair usually always need to be cut after a perm. sooooo...Think hard and long and please get help.... you also need to wash hair about 24 hour ahead of time so perm will set good in hair NO DO OVERS..Good luck to you...If you do go with a home perm get one with conditioners ... Techs at beauty supplys houses can help but only you know your hair

Perming your own hair might be a little hard, maybe you could get a friend to help you with the back at least. Otherwise, I have had my hair permed at home (my aunt helps), and it is obviously the cheaper way to go as long as it does not get screwed up.

If you have short hair, and are good at curling your own hair, home perms by yourself are ok, otherwise, better get a friend to help with the curling! and prepare yourself for the fumes! good luck!
