all war is rooted in religious beliefs, masked by political agenda. people feel justified in killing because they believe that God is on their side, and not the other. this is an egoic belief. the truth is God is on all our sides and demonstrates this with free will. we are allowed to create whatever it is that we choose. even physical death. the purpose of this never ending game is evolution, to grow to re-member who we really are- individuations of Divinity. as we awaken our consciousness, more and more people will choose peace, and the suffering will cease. it starts with you.
be the change you want to see in the world. ~Ghandi

No, your method of applying your reason to context isn't correct. You are adding your own view to words and that implicates your reasoning on the subject.
Religion is a view of a belief. It may be attached to your conscious mind but that has many links that go into that. I can't write too much because I will end up writing an essay!lol
thou shall not murder is a commandment and a choice/rule of those it implies to. When a person murders, they are disregarding this rule and religion cannot be held accountable for a persons action. It can only guide and it is up to the reader to make up their own choice.
My conscience is good.

Bush links murder and war and theft to God and Jesus. Not very good for a leader of the USA.. People look at what their leader/king/president does and they do what he does. Just like how kids copy and immitate grown ups and parents..
Some people are influenced by the crap Bush is doing and some became atheists and seculars because of Bush.
Bush made a new religion called: Bushianity

I am born a Muslim but an Atheist by profession... Killing for any reason is bad. But when u look at people and states who hate the other so much that they feel fine with killing, you wonder what made them like this? I think religion needs to be looked at critically but at the same time, violence is also perpetuated by stereotyping people into killers first and then killing them for how they look. This is done not by individuals so much as by the organized interests, castes, nations and races.

No. I would die rather than be forced to convert, but I wouldn't force the same on other people through the threat of death. Also, my religion does not advocate guilt and fear as a means of control.

No way jose! my religion does not expect that, but if it expected that, it would show me the religion is badly wrong! In fact my religion is against war and killing of any kind and people in my religion, rather get locked up in jail than to kill anyone in war or go to war! Ironic isn't it they get locked up with murderers because those murderers murdered, but they are locked up because they refuse to murder any one

For starters its not my religion i only enjoy affiliation based on the principles we believe in.
Killing? Thats crazy, who would be fighting for God when he could not even defend his own self.
Its crazy and its simply committing murder and hiding behind a religion to do it.

My conscience is not dead at all. True Christianity does not require you to kill anyone. It requires you to die to yourself. The Apostle Paul said, "I die Daily"
