First, what would you like your audience to know? Do you want to reflect on what made you the best man? Do you want to persuade your audience about the groom and bride? Before formatting you need to know what your points are going to be towards everyone. Then put those points in the order you find most important. Give moments that you feel are going to help everyone understand how you feel as a best man and towards the situation as a whole.

Once you make your points you can work chronologically, start with a small point and work towards something broad OR start broad and work towards a minute detail. Go from the least important to the most important or the other way around.

Just remember that you are the best man and simply knowing that will make your speech a perfect one nonetheless.

format?

I played for 16 years for a band that played weddings. Over the course of that time, we played 800 of them. We most often provided the wireless mic, for the toasts.

YES, don't be an idiot... have something prepared... but the best toasts are fairly short... and gives a little history or a relevent story...

You can end with something PROFOUND:
"May you love as long as you live, and live as long as you love"

or something funny...

"May all your ups and downs be between the sheets"...

End by saying GOOD LUCK or HERE HERE.

Speak from the heart... and the toast will be wonderful!

Well, without looking at other answers, which I happen to be proud of, bring up all of the most embarrassing moments he has ever had, and then, bring up all of the wonderful things he has done to bring you two so close, as best friends, and then, slam him with how he may perform on his Honeymoon and then maybe...jerk him around about paying for it! LOL! And don't forget to tell him how much he means to you as his dear friend. He will be your friend for life. Tell him I said congratulations and good love. Hugs, ((Sheri))), the happily married, 44 year old hag who has been there and done that. LOL! How sweet. I think I need to go take a shower and get some of that sugar off of me! LOL~!

By the way, these are the types of questions that just totally make my day here on Yahoo questions and answers. :)

He in all likelihood needs to take heed to what you may say, till now you're saying it in the front of an total wedding ceremony. wedding ceremony speeches are type of no longer uncomplicated to get top - what you'll discover humorous would nicely be offensive to the bride/the groom/the households, and the groom is possibly only attracted to helping you get it top. No, you aren't to any extent further breaking some custom.

Well talk about things that are funny..and how they complete each other

.....just dont do what one of my ex's said he did once.......

they asked him if he wanted to make a speech or maybe play a song in dedication ...well this guy wasnt too smart because he was too shy to say anything so he picked to 'play a song'....

When asked what song he said Free Bird by Lynryd Skynyrd...which is a VERY LONG song and which led to a very long and awkward moment for everyone...and wicked evil looks from the new bride. He didnt do it on purpose he was just that dumb. Thats why hes my exboyfriend. Poor guy...but darn thats funny

Start off with a small joke, usually about the groom, but nothing too harmful - something stupid he did a long time ago (not involving another woman). Then move onto a semi-nauseating sentiment about how great love is, and finish with a rousing Hoo-ah, like a Marine.

Introduction on your relationship with him
example: i know (name) from back in the day where Commodore 64 was cool

talk about something you have both done together that was funny and have it with him in context to why it was funny

congratulations: to him and his beautful new wife. say something deep like
from the moment they met, i knew that i was seeing something beautiful forming. if only i can have 10 percent of what they feel for each other, i would be forever blessed.

salute

just go with what is in your heart. just don't bring up anything bad from his past.. make it a meaningful speech that you would want someone to say if you were to ask that person to say a best mans speech. :D good luck

I hope the best man is writing his own speech and you are not writing it for him. Keep it short, simple and very classy.
