I'm an atheist, and after defending Islam on this site, I thought you know what, maybe I should read some of the stuff I'm actually defending. Well I was horrified at what I read to say the least. I won't go into details, but needless to say showing an atheist the quran will not get you converts.
Many bang on about the science discoveries but these are all a load of nonsense, or were found out by other cultures first.
I can see no reason why an atheist would convert to become a muslim. They have made the mature decision to reject religion, why go backwards now!

Well i dont think i m the best person to giv u the best answer for ur question i think u should ask Imam (the head of a mosque) for the best answer..May Allah guide all the people on earth to the right path. Amin.
To those out there..i m again plead hope that u guys stop being such a racist in religion..christian to muslim, muslim to christian.
We must respect each other religions, and accept people the way they are not what we want them to be.

well, if u want to convert, you should first have an open mind. you should realise that you dont choose a religion based on what suits you but instead you have to change yourself to accept it. well, im ashamed that me, despite me being a muslim, im quite ignorant in its scriptures. but it has given me peace and my life is much better than i thought it would be. It is unlike other religions, it respects and recognises Moses, Jesus, David and their books. You can find lots of scientific facts which was found by western civilizations only recently, mentioned in the Quran ages ago. In which other religion can you find any mention about the bigbang and the fact that the universe is expanding?. so go ahead and give it a try, accepting it is totally upto u.

The world saw Christianity, Judism and Islam. While the first 2 accepts none of the aspects of Islam, Islam accepts most of them. Islam accepts Moses(pbuh) and Jesus(pbuh). But they dont accept Muhamad (pbuh). Let time judge the best. When u shall die, u will learn the truth. Where can u find peace? IN ISLAM. Where can u find happiness? IN ISLAM. Terrorism is present in all religions. Its represents a very samll part of OUR lives. I meant by us the people of the world. The Christians should be respectful about other religions. PLEASE.

HMMM interesting question. Well the core of Islam is the belief in one God and only one God. To live your life for him and obey him. So for him to except Islam he would have to except God. So I would try and show him things in Islam that prove God is real. And alot of atheist believe in science. The Quran is full of scientific marvels. Things that scientist are just now finding out and it was written 1400+ years ago.
After that I would just leave it up to them to decide. Pushing to much can repel a person. I would say what I had to say and leave it at that.

That God is what His servant thinks of Him. This is what God tells the Muslim. This means that if you disbelieve in god, you will live in a world that is godless and that if you believe in god you will live in a life that is full of god. If one is sincere in truly trying to find out if god exists, he will show them for god does not turn away those who seek him. God is the creator of everything that is in the Heavens and the Earth -- he has created good and he has created evil. Our sole purpose on this Earth is to worship him, to obey him. We aim to do good deeds and try our best to stay away from bad deeds. On the Day of Judgment, we will be judged for our actions, with a scale that has every single thing we have done (big or as tiny as an atom) in our lives. Hopefully, our good deeds outweigh our bad.

You can't -- he has to discover it for himself. Just give him some literature on Islam (pamphlet - easy to read and comprehend), and let him know you are available to discuss. Otherwise, it's pointless. Only a person open to religion in general will want to hear it.
