Potatoes are an even better source of potassium than bananas, but you have to bake them. Potassium is water soluble - it boils/cooks out in the cooking water. So any food you boil in water loses its potassium to the water (which is one of the reasons they tell you to drink or use the cooking water).

You can get potassium from potatoes by slicing a raw potato with the skin on, into thin slices and letting it sit in a glass of water overnight. The potassium leaches into the water and you drink the water. Guess you could add some juice to it to make it taste better, but it tastes ok to me. And no calories.

Banana has been known as the miracle food because it is so good for you and has many nutrients. However, a kiwi is even better especially if you eat the skin which contains fibre.
