Unfortunately, people are prejudice against what they cannot understand. When people don't know how to help or understand something they make it a bad thing, so as to not feel bad themselves. It really is sad:( You are not stupid or crazy, you just think and feel differently. Some of the BEST artists in the world were and still are mentally ill. Van Gogh, Kurt Cobain, Justin Furstenfeld (Blue October) just to name a few:) Just keep you're chin up because you know you are great:)

When my ex and I started talking I could tell right away he had Bi-Polar and you could hear the relief in his voice when he admitted it aloud he was fearful I would walk away. I then discovered he also had ADD but from the moment I looked in his eyes I was in love and the "illness" as his family labled it became invisible to me. I saw his beautiful soul and his blessed heart the situation he was subjected to live with was just another reason for me to love him. His family thanked me for going out with him and this offended me I told them I didn't care what he had he was my angel and he always will be now that he has left this earth he is my eternal angel and my reward.
Don't let what other's say affect you too much I know it's easier said than done but you are special, you are a human the same as anyone else they're just ignorant and uneducated their closed minds should come with closed mouths!

People assume these things because they are ignorant. They don't know what these diseases really do and how they work, or that there are treatments for them that do work and help people to lead normal lives. I have lost people who I thought were friends once they found out that I have bipolar and OCD. All I can say to you is that you are better off without them. There are people out there that are intelligent and will like you no matter what disease you have, and those people will like you for you.

Because THEY are idiots. I suffer from panic disorder and OCD. I usually don't tell anyone, and can hide it pretty well (35 years of practice) But my wife has to tell everyone she knows, and boy, I get a lot of strange looks from people! I have no friends because I pretty much keep to myself. I guess "normal" people just don't understand how it feels to have a disability, and how much you want to be "Normal". Hope you feel better!

Perhaps those kind of people are afraid they might find it in themselves.
Or worse yet, they would have to acknowledge the pain of rejection they've felt in their own lives...and what a shame that would be!

Regardless of their insensitivities, you are being offered the opportunity to stand like Royalty in the beauty of uniqueness that is only You, while you quietly teach grace and compassion to those who need it so badly.

Namaste!

People don't like things they don't understand. Others are just ignorant. Fortunately, most folks aren't that way. I would just worry about people who are you friends and family and not waste energy on the ones who don't want to understand.

a lot of people dont beleive in those disorders because there are a lot of people that just write their problems off as "being a disorder" so many of those conditions have lost their credibility.

My feelings are that all woman are bi-polar and all men have ADD but that has nothing to do with being stupid, and as these people who make fun of you grow older, they will find themselves with some sort of problem and someone will for sure also make fun of them and the cycle just continues.

Because they are ignorant They don't or don;t want to be bothered to understand the disease. To make up for thei inadiquasie, they'd rather laugh at you.
