Baptism was around and common LONG before Jesus, son of Joseph, walked the earth. It was a clensing ritual...
As for the mystery of the trinity...
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are three manifestations of the same deity. Similar to the fact that many men are fathers, sons, and uncles... same person, but different relationships.

The father, the son and the holy spirit are one. One cannot exist without the other. Jesus was an ordinary human like you and me. He was a carpenter. When we are born we are born as sinners into a world of sin. It's called free will. God gives us a choice to follow him. And Jesus was given that choice also. Baptism is just a way to show the world that you have been cleansed. Read the Bible for yourself. Ask God to give you an understanding. Some people have all kinds of interpretations but if you read t for yourself then you'll know the truth.

Jesus wasn't the son of two fathers like a child from a gay marriage. He was the Son of Man and the Son of God. So as the Son of God, there would be no need to baptise Him. He was baptised as the Son of Man, a descendant of Adam and Eve. Remember that Jesus lived among us as one of us - He was a man, but also the Son of God.
As for the Trinity .. well you can spend time trying to figure it out, or you can just accept it. Faith is accepting what you can't necessarily see or feel or understand. There's nothing scandalous about it, it simply is.

Jesus was not baptized with the Christian Baptism, he had no original sin from Adam (He was sinless). Jesus was baptized with the baptism of John which was a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sin to fulfill righteousness. Christian Baptism is the one which takes away original sin by being born again of water and the Holy Spirit as a member of the Body of Christ (the church) with the words Jesus gave us for Christian Baptism (In the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.)

Baptism has a lot of significance which includes inter alia:
i, Submission, ii, confession, iii, death with the Lord, iv, service, v. Resurrection in the Lord.
Jesus Christ was conceived of a virgin (as prophesied by Isaiah) and until then he was brought up in the nature of human beings. His mission was clear yet he needed the power because the task was enormous. His being baptized signified that whatever he was going to command His followers to do are possible (leadership by example if you like).
Concerning Jesus and God, you should ask a true believer to take you some lessons in TRINITY. The fact that Jesus is Lord should solve the problem but I doubt if you will understand/accept.
God save your soul.

That's what John the Baptist said too, more or less. In worldly terms, Jesus was junior to John. As the new dispensation was junior to the old. Baptism was required under the Law, and the Prophets. The Holy Spirit was something new, and miracle with the dove was the first manifestation of the that new dispensation.

Baptism does not remove sin!Jesus sacrifice of his life is what takes away the sin of people who have faith Baptism is actually a Dedication that one makes to God so when Jesus got baptized he was dedicating himself to his Father and his God also leaving us a model to follow his example. As for the trinity that is a whole different subject and it is contradictory, untruthfull, and it is not a Bible teaching, it denies important truths about God and his Son Jesus Christnor does it make sense because it is ideas of men!

After Jesus was baptised he read from Isaiah at Luke 4:18; That he was anointed to preach the gospel.

Matt.28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matt.28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matt.28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Great Point!
You are correct!
Also, baptism was not for christians, neither for Jews! It was a Greek custom and was done during the first days of the newborn, in the home, around the Fire, women were throwing little water to the baby!

:) Well, the purpose of life is simply believing in and worshipping one diety alone - Allah (is the only diety worthy of being worshipped.) If you do that, then things start to make sense.
As for the concept of original sin, as Muslims, we just believe that each human being starts his or her life sin-free. It is up to each individual to try and strive their hardest to do good (and follow the revelation of Allah) and earn Paradise or it is also their choice to do wrong and not follow the revelation (the holy Qur'aan) and then earn Hell.
Nobody takes on the sin of another, each person is responsible for their own actions. And for one man to take on that responsibility - well we know that the Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) was a man - so this weight would be too big for him to bare. Only Allah ("God") is capable of removing sins and forgiving us from them.
:) I hope that helps.
