According to the rather brilliant 'I Hate the French Official Handbook', the 100 years war lasted from 1337 to 1453 (116 years) and in the opinion of many it was a good deal too short.

I don't know the correct answer, but I do know it wasn't 100 years. I also know that a couple of years ago someone found a Korean bloke hiding in a field somewhere, he thought the 2nd world war was still going on!

1337-1453 (116 yrs) according to wikipedia - but if you search around the view on the year it started varies, particularly between 1337/1339 - that's History for you!
