The official story on Iraq has never made sense. The connection that the Bush administration has tried to draw between Iraq and al-Qaida has always seemed contrived and artificial. In fact, it was hard to believe that smart people in the Bush administration would start a major war based on such flimsy evidence. The pieces just didn't fit. Something else had to be going on; something was missing. In recent days, those missing pieces have finally begun to fall into place. As it turns out, this is not really about Iraq. It is not about weapons of mass destruction, or terrorism, or Saddam, or U.N. resolutions. This war, should it come, is intended to mark the official emergence of the United States as a full-fledged global empire, seizing sole responsibility and authority as planetary policeman. It would be the culmination of a plan 10 years or more in the making, carried out by those who believe the United States must seize the opportunity for global domination, even if it means becoming the "American imperialists" that our enemies always claimed we were. Once that is understood, other mysteries solve themselves. For example, why does the administration seem unconcerned about an exit strategy from Iraq once Saddam is toppled? Because we won't be leaving. Having conquered Iraq, the United States will create permanent military bases in that country from which to dominate the Middle East, including neighboring Iran.
This Is The Real Goal Of USA In Iraq.

OMG! You people really need to look deeper into the issues here. Whether your like it or not, this WAR going on is about terrorism. Period. Yes, it may be inevitable that slugs like terrorists remain on our Earth for eternity, however the fewer the better. No one every said Iraq was responsible for the 9/11 attacks, or Afghanistan. Here's a little clue to help you on your way to self discovery on your poor problem investigating the issues at hand. Which will result in you having to spend less time wasted posting questions like this one, which will have no real apparent answer to anyone, as anyone knows that war is a "bad" topic, you either are in favor or your not. And you are not going to get fair and partial answers on this one here.
GO to a Library, Get off this page and Look up on the Internet. The history of Iraq and Afghanistan in conjunction with Terrorism, Al Quaida, and the connections they have had with SADDAM since before the Clinton administration.
Then answer your question for YOURSELF!

Really? The US has a little alli called Kuwait. They asked us long ago to protect them from the rest of the abusive countries, so when Iraq invaded we were obilgated to protect our brothers. Funny people seem to forget that little piece of info. The US did what she was (A) asked (B) obligated to do. Loyalty, honor, peace is what the US was forced into defending for a tiny country that couldn't defend themselves. Iraq opened that door, not the US. Add to that, the training grounds for terrorist. Add to that, "SoDam Insane" bragged and boasted and threatened that he had chemical weapons and would use them if they didn't get what they wanted (we couldn't find what HE said they had NOT, George Bush). THAT's IRAQ THE COUNTRY FOOL. AFGHANISTAN? Same type crap. You asked for it, Deal with it!
And beside all that, anyone can use your (non)logic. "The USA isn't responcible for the invasions on Iraq and Afganistan the terrorist are........" So when you didn't stop them while in your back yard, who is suposed to? "Oh it's OK to bomb the world because your not hurting us" Well we can have that attitude too..."Oh it's OK to bomb Iraq and Afg. because your not hurting us........." Get real people!!!!!

I'd agree with you when it comes to Iraq, but not Afghanistan. For one thing, their highest yielding resource is opium--poppy flowers. However, they ARE harboring terrorists, however unwillingly, terrorists who were responsible for great damage to our country, and I for one want to see their dead bodies like I watched footage for days about our own dead bodies. Sorry, that's just the way I feel about them. However, I do think that we are also helping in Afghanistan. Why is it that no one is remembering the stories about soldiers who helped rebuild Afghanistan schools and helped the Afghani people?

Right, you're right. Man I guess we should of elected you president. You're obviously so much more intelligent than our whole government. What's it like to make a political statement and then post it in the religious questions section?

yup. It's about oil. I love how the gas prices have dropped steadily since we went to iraq. Let's go after Iran's oil next. Then gas will be a low $10.84 a gallon!!!!!
