I was looking for an unusual wedding location in the UK and found a link for Carnglaze Slate Caverns, they have a license for civil weddings and yu can get married by a subteranean lake, the water is clear blue/green and they light the cavern with candles, that sounds amazing to me, what are your thoughts on this as a location?

wow I think that sounds stunning, great location! It's good that there are various locations as somebody pointed out the cave may not be so great for pictures but the fairy garden looks so cute! If this is what you and your fiance really want then I think you should go for it, understandably many people still want to get married in church but as this is not an option for everyone then it is good to see that various venues are finally opening their doors to allow flexibility and let people get married where they feel is best for them. When my husband and I married, we really wanted to marry outside, as this is not legal in the UK we had a civil ceremony about a week before our wedding date to get the legal bits and pieces out of the way and then we married outside in my grandmother's rose garden, she had spent all her married life planting and tending the garden and it seemed very appropriate as she died a few years ago and did not get to see us married, we felt very close to her there and it made it a very special occasion.

I think you definitely found something unusual! It looks like it could be really cool, and the only thing I would say to look into is the temperature. It could be colder or more humid in there, but as long as you inform your guests ahead of time what to expect, it should be fine. Oh, and you also might want to check into photography – how easy or difficult will it be for your photographer to get pictures in there? Even if the lake part doesn’t work out, it looks like that location has other cool sites for a ceremony, so I think you found a good location. Your wedding will be one that will stand out in people’s minds and be very memorable. I like it!

Sounds wonderful - I was in Western Australia in April and we visited some of their limestone caves which have amazing stalactites and stalagmites, you can get married there also and that struck me as rather fantastic. Being a traditionalist and a Christian I want to get married in church, but if that is not for you and you still want somewhere special and perhaps with a spiritual feel then I think the cave sounds like a wonderful place to choose. I hope it is the most fantastic day for you.

It sounds very romantic. We got married in the middle of the woods next to the sea and I would not change it for the world.
Your choice sounds very unusual but not tacky, and will really add to the special memories of your day.
Good luck,

I googled your place and it looks beautiful! Just think, you can get married lakeside without worrying about rain! But seriously, the lighting looks amazing, it seems almost magical or ethereal. I'm attaching this link so others can use it to voice their opinion.

As long as it is practical and will sit well with you're guests, then you're location will provide a lovely setting and will make it a unique and memorable wedding

Looks great. is everyone on your guest list physically capable of the event? No grandparents in wheelchairs or with walking issues?
