I was wondering if there is a way to see all the applications are running on a Mac? I know with Windows, you press Ctrl-Alt-Del and you get the Task Manager.

If so, what keys do I press?

Go to the Apple Menu in the top left of your screen, and click on "Force Quit". It will then pull up a list of currently runing applications and give you the option to quit with the exception of the Finder, of which you have to relaunch. Any applications that are hung when you open that menu appear in red.

Another option is to use the Activity Monitor app in your utilities folder. I use that all the time, and have the icon in the dock show me my CPU usage over time. Very useful for monitoring system resources.

I believe if you hit shift-option-(Apple key) and the button on the upper-right corner of the keyboard, it will restart. This may vary according to the model, though. I work on a Mac at work but only have a PC here at home, so I'm not sure if those keys are exactly the ones. Try the HELP option on your menu bar and it may give you more information.

And for what it's worth, I heard someone say that sure, PCs outnumber Macs about 20-to-1, but cockroaches outnumber humans. :-)
