It's a crazy cycle. They go to church and worship their deity, and then go home and tell a lie, or cheat on their spouse. Personally, I think organized religion should be eradicated. They're putting their faith in to one man behind a podium reading off scripture, and speaking FOR god, and yet he's a less than perfect human being with flaws of his own.

The church was started by God for the benefit of his followers.
We gain strength from each other and benefit from the teaching
that our spiritual leaders provide. The congregation is a spiritual
family and we love and depend on each other just like your physical family. The book of Acts will explain the origin and purpose of God's Church. Have a nice day.

Not the way some people look

For me, it's a sign of respect, a time to say thanks for all that I have or have had done for me.
And there are times when it is an effort to go.
I've wondered why it is that when bad things happen, everybody blames God, and when good things happen , no one thanks him.

I think for some, there is a comfort in the community of shared faith. A chance to catch up with neighbors and friends. Some people go every week for years, and get nothing from it. They go out of obligation. And then one day, something is said, or a topic comes up, and a light bulb of understanding is turned on. Makes all that waiting worth it.

Different strokes. The key is when people take it home with them, and don't leave it at the their place of worship.

People do not go to church to pray. The Bible tells us that church is a place where we study and build one another up in our faith. The Christian life is much like the physical life, you start as a baby and grow into maturity. To do so you need spiritual food. Church is like a big feast where we feed on the Bible, teaching, and instruction. The Bible says it this way, "All Scripture is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. Prayer can be done, and is done anytime and anywhere.

Jesus is everywhere( omnipresent) except Hell. When you believe in and receive Him, He lives in your heart and is with you everywhere you go, I grew up going to church because my parents made me. It was the most boring experience I ever had, so I ran away for years untill I realized my life was empty and void and I knew I needed to get to know Jesus... I needed Him, I soon found a church that is alive with Gods presence and not ritual or tradition.. I now go to church because I'm in love with Jesus, I love to worship Him I love to sing love songs to him...There is nowhere else I would prefer to be, except alone with him... His music is life giving and when you begin to Praise Him, you are in His presence. In this way , you can experience His (manifest) presence . Psalm 22:3 says that God inhabits the praises of His people.
You can feel His love and He will speak to you. In church or alone... I also go to church to learn more about Him. There are many reasons that I pray with my church family. We love and care about what each other are going through and support one another in prayer and also we know that because there is power in agreement when you pray. The bible teaches that if one can put a thousand to flight, then two can put 10,000...I have seen many impossible situations turn around, many people healed from sickness and set free from pain in their bodies and emotions. I have had relationships restored that I thought were so damaged they could never be repaired and forgivness has washed away even the memory of division.
I don't think most people go to church to look good, these days, some people think your weird if you go but I think people are usually drawn by God to go, he places a hunger to know him inside of us because He wants relationship with us...with you.

I am reminded of the famous poet OMAR KHAYAM who sang
"You say I should not drink at the mosque because you say God is there. Please tell me a place where God is not there so that I can go and drink there"

A place of worship is needed so that the feeling of GODLINESS is brought into the mind of people.
Will anyone agree to sit and eat at REST room
Or can any one imagine to denigrade the kitchen as if it is va rest room.
So as we have a living room, a bed room. a rest room etc,
we do need a place of worship so that our mind gets concentrated on thoughts about God.May be once we advance in our developmennt stage we may not need a church but any place can serve as good as a church but till then we need a church.

Christans believe it is good to comune in praise and worship and then talk amungst eachother about god and the bible.

From this formed the church and it has become a tradition so burnt into the christain faith it's tabboo NOT to attend.

Unity among "true believers" is a valuable result. Of course now a day, it's hard to find such individuals... but the ultimate goal was for humanity to work and live as one! this is true for all religions and a place of worship... I as a Muslim have stopped going to the mosques simply because I see no intelligence, no love and no humbleness among them. I can never bond with such people! there is more politics in places of worship than faith... so the places of worship have lost their purpose in my opinion...

Sometimes I do wonder too!!! But some of them think praying in a group is better! I don't know why they think so! Maybe some just do it to look good!
