I think you should do what makes you feel good about yourself. However, in a conservative work place, you don't need to wear the earrings. I think a nice diamond stud looks good on a man when he is dressed up or in a pair of jeans. Anything goes anymore. You just need to do what makes you feel good about yourself. Maybe it would give your personality a lift to add a little extra accessory. Just keep it in reason. Unless you are working in some big Fortune 500 company, you had better leave the jewelry off. You are only as old as you want to be!
Of course it is ridiculous when older people try to totally act/dress a much younger age than they are, but sometimes you need to do something to make you feel just a little more confident or sexy or good about yourself.
Oh, an older man with a ponytail.....I definitely take a second look.....and hope I catch their eye!

Ya, I think you are too old to wear earrings now. Maybe you can wear them when you are not at work, but to me earrings on a 45 yr. old man looks kinda goofy. You should have done this back in the 80's.

no don't be silly you as old as u feel there's some great ones now a days, jangly ones r now the thing 4 men today. the bright plastic ones r back like in the eighty's. if u wear them u r sure 2 make a fashion statement and all the 45 plus men will b following suit as well as the younger ones as well GO FOR IT U ONLY LIVE ONCE.

I was sitting at a cricket match yesterday with my husband and Father, when we noticed that a Chap in front of us, who was entirely appropriately dressed (linen, Panama) was wearing a tiny diamond earring. He was probably about 50. We noticed it and commented upon it as unusual and reached the mutual conclusion that it looked staggeringly cool. Just don't wear your hair in a pony tail!

45 is not old!!! I have my classmates, that are only 12, wear earrings to school. They don't care what other people say. They are not even afraid of our discipline teacher. JUST DO IT, DUDE!!!
