its easy to say no and think your morally better then everyone else who has answered. but the truth is i believe every human when looking death in the eyes would let their natural instincts and their will to live kick in. if i was going to war e.g. concription WW2 id have to prepare myself mentally to do that. if i didnt i wouldnt survive to see her again and at this moment in time im willing to take away everyone elses happiness in order to keep mine. you can look at me as bastard but im only being honest. give a man a gun he will shoot another. give him a reason to go home and he will win you a war

Yes, and in one-to-one combat as well. If it is a survival situation and that is the only remaining option, I wouldn't even think twice about it. And I'm not even a soldier or martial arts student!

I'm a former Marine and I was deployed to Iraq. I had to use my rifle in a lot of situations. I believe that you can't answer this question when you are in a calm environment and just chilling in front of a computer. It's a good thing that some of you believe you would do it if you were in a life or death situation. Just know that you will carry something else for the rest of your life. And that something is not pleasant unless you're insane.

Come over to see me and you Will find out!

No but seriously...I think it is human nature to defend one-self. If it is 1-1 to the death I think anybody could kill. Could I? Yes I think so. Also if I saw somebody attacking somebody I love then that person is going to find out exactly what pain is...the hard way.

Well, as a US Marine I was trained to do so. I was prepared to do so under lawful orders in the defense of my country, my fellow Marines, and myself.
As a civilian peace officer I did have to fire on someone, and thankfully he did not die, even though he was seriously injured in the exchange. When I pulled the trigger I was prepared for the fact that my action was possibly / probably going to result in loss of life, even though I did not have time to process that at that moment. I had made that decision when I became a sworn officer.

I don't believe anyone can honestly answer this question until put into a life-and-death survival situation. Then, that's when you'd have to make that decision. In a question and answer situation like this where people are calm and rational, it would be difficulty to honestly answer.

Of course, for those people who've already been put into that situation and had to answer the question, they already have their answer.
