Acid stomach and also a particular bacterial infection can cause stomach ulcers.
Your doctor can try antibiotics on you for the stomach infection.
If there is no infection, then your doctor may want you to take an over the counter drug like prilosec or pepsid. Or he may prescribe a stronger one like nexium or prevecid.

If you do not treat the stomach ulcer soon enough, you can have a bleed which could be fast and deadly.
Get checked right away and get well.
Isn't it great these medicines are there for you!

I have had many ulcers. They can be caused from different things, stress, a bacteria in your body, to much spicy foods etc... You need to see a doctor to get rid of them. I have had 3 upper GI's, the first one showed 4 bleeding ulcers. Nexium healed them up. I now take Pepcid AC and that seems to take care of the problem.

Bleeding from your bowels and vomiting mostly. I have had a couple over the years. They are nasty things. Between the special bland diets and the pills, it is worth taking excellant care of your self so you don't have to go through that.

If you are talking about gastric ulcers, most are actually caused by bacterial infection. Speak to a doctor; he/she will probably put you on a course of antibiotics.
