women never had tampons/ napkins. what were they using?

they used cloths and it was said that bathing wasnt too much of a big deal because men found the odor attractive

I don't know where I heard it from but I'm pretty sure it was a folded cloth that was washed? Thank God for the inventors of tampons

pieces of cloth that is where the term on the rag comes from, they also used plugs, it was really hard to be a women in the old days.
