Yes it does. When you pass over to the other side, your appearance is similar to the way you looked when you were younger, about 30. If you die while you are young that's how you'll appear. You'll be the same sex as when you died.
If you and God plan for you to return to earth to learn things you may not have learned in your past life/lives, you'll decide on gender then. You learn about each gender by experiencing life in each of the forms. If you talk to someone who can tell you anything about your past lives, they can see you at different times and in different bodies. You are often with the same people in many lives. The role you play in the lives may me different in life to life. One Spiritual Counselor saw me with my two daughters. My daughter that is currently my oldest was my Mother in the past life I'm referring to and my youngest daughter was my Grandmother. The people you end up with are based on who can benefit from what teachings you have to offer them and what they can teach you. It's your choice.
Just as the decisions you make on earth are your choice. They are all learning experiences.

Gender is the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits associated with a sex.

So unless there is renicarnation or something like that, then there is no gender until the mind developes. After life then aslong as a soul/mind caries on then the gender will exist.

In the afterlife, everything will be of spirit, so we shall have no bodies with organs as such. There may be male and female personalities, but the Bible says that in heaven, no one will be married or given in marraige. I think this points to a spiritual existance.

When Christ came the first time, they were expecting Him to set up a physical kingdom. What he did instead was set up His Spiritual kingdom which destruction of the flesh cannot harm.

if our bodies die, what is left? if anything, our atoms and perhaps our soul. but i thing the soul has no physical form. we all become one with the conciousness of the cosmos; we were just lucky enough to spring forth and add to its awakened glory.

by the way, our genes are coded so that in 125,000 years, there wil be no male gender; females will self produce. there is a species of lizards alive today that has already forgone this process. they simulate mating to commence ovulation, and are all genetically exact duplicates of each other.

No it doesn't. We defined genders.

It's a characteristic of life. The soul does not have a gender.
