I think humor can be used. It is cool if a girl jokes around with you. Another good way to flirt is to complament the guy on how he acts or looks. Like you could say your so funny or nice or kind and so on. With looks you could say your eyes look really good when you wear green. Or your shoulders look so broad in that suit. And so on. A turn off would be if you came on like you were too easy. Like saying I want to sleep with you now. For some that might be a turn on but I think it is a turn off makes you look cheap. You should ask the guy out by saying I would really like spending some time with you out of school or work or however you know him. Ask him to dinner or a movie or just to get coffee. I like a girl that laughs, smiles jokes, acts feminine. You don't ask a man out, but a very good method I've found girls using is giving you ideas, telling you they'd like to do this or that, then it's up to the man to take the hint. I normally do.
A turnoff are girls that make offhand compliments, such as telling you your shins are big. I heard that one once and I left immediately.

It will turn off some guys, but most men would like it, or be relieved that a girl is showing interest in them, especially those that don't look like a cover model for GQ magazine. It will also weed out the gay guys and the committed ones pretty quick. Of course if you flirt then please mean it. Men HATE prick teasers.

Don't be too forward, like - "You know what would look good on you? Me" I'd be running already.
Personally, I like it when I say some kind of inuendo and she returns with something a little more dirty than I expected. I can't think of a good example, just not anything that's suggesting you and he go have sex.

Men love it when women ask them out. But don't pressure them, ask them in a way where they won't feel like they have to say yes. Be honest and straight forward. Oh.... and always laugh at the things they say, even if it isn't funny, it makes them feel more confident, and comfortable with you.

for me all a woman has to do is say hi, and I am in love, so hi is all the flirting I need. If a woman came up to me drunk and said I want to have your baby, that would be a turn off.

Each person is different...but for me it's the way she looks at me and at no one else. Not saying I want her to stare directly at me 24/7. I love a woman who smiles with her eyes and who's mood rises up when she sees me.
To put it simply...make the guy feel special and he'll gladly return the favor.
