Let's say that a singer want's to call him self Bacardi or Vodka or Cristal or Jim, can he do that or is it a problem because the names are used by other industryes or whetever?

Vodka and Jim would be fine... but Bacardi would piss off some people and they'd likely sue for trademark infringement. Realistically, if someone wanted to do it, Bacardi would probably just want in on a piece of the action and they'd be legally justified to demand almost anything.

It wouldn't be a big deal if the industries were so different, or if someone who's last name really is Bacardi tried it... but music and alcohol are so tied together through advertising that it would be tough to get away with.

No, it'd be trademarked or copyrighted or whatever. If they did, the company that owns it could sue them for a percentage.

well, if ya wanna be a household name, get a screen name that is easier to recall, something unique, matches your personality, and has a star appeal on it..... of course you have to consult your manager/publicist....
