I find frontline works best on my cats. As for your house, what I use is 20 Mule Team Borax (you can find it in your laundry detergent isle at the grocery store). Take an empty coffee can, and poke lots of holes in the bottom (to make a shaker), put the borax in the can and sprinkle it all over your house...your carpets, your furniture, everything. It's safe for pets and people. Leave it for 24 hours and then vacuum. Repeat the process again 2 more times. Remember to toss the vacuum bag, or empty it after each use, otherwise the flea eggs could possibly hatch inside and it won't seem effective. The borax should kill any flea eggs and larvae in the carpet and the frontline will take care of any adults on the cat. You need to do both the house and cat treatments at the same time in order for it to be effective.

Frontline or advantage from PETMEDS or your vet. Make sure they are old enough to have the stuff put on them. Next, either move your pets somewhere else (friends mom/dad's) then bomb your house. Make sure you move your birds, cover your fish tank, all food/water bowls.

Check your cat's poop- if they had fleas bad, they may have tapeworm too-it looks like pieces of rice. There is an oral med you can give for that, Cestex? or something like that. It is disgusting, and when they lay on your bedding or whatever, they will leave pieces. I think every cat's system is different, so not everyone will have tapeworm from fleas. Good luck!

Revolution, it takes care of fleas and many other critters that can get on your cat. I have 2 cats and I give it to them. One application lasts a month, it takes 24 hours to kill the fleas on them and eventually the ones in your house will jump on the cat to feed and they to will die so eventually your cat and your house should be rid of them. I live in florida and there are lots of fleas and bugs so i always give my cats revolution

flea dip for the cats, flea bomb for the house. get yourelf and the kitties out, seal up the house, set off the bomb. When you come back, open all windows, turn on fans, ventilate. Keep flea collars on cats in future.

Your cat: take him/her to the Vet to get some spot on drops. They work wonders for killing fleas.
Your house: get some spray and powder for your carpets&furniture. Always follow the instrutions on the canister. Be prepared to treat your whole house 2 or even 3 times, especially in the hot weather.
